Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our specialist school in Chester, supporting children and young people aged 2 to 19 years over 2 sites (Primary and Secondary). Our school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils with Severe learning Difficulties and 또는 Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and Social Emotional and Mental Health often with additional learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils' learning and development under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage social and emotional development.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored support to each student.
  • Help create a safe, stimulating, and engaging learning environment.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with children or young people with severe learning difficulties and/or additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Patient, resilient, and adaptable with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are an advantage but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for supporting SEND students to achieve their full potential.
  • Previous experience in 1 to 1 roles preferable
