Job summary

Two Bridges Academy is seeking a Learning Support Assistant at Culverhill School, a special school for pupils aged 7–16 with complex learning difficulties. This is a permanent, term-time role.

Hours are 32.5 per week, 08:45–15:45, Monday–Friday, plus 6 inset days; salary range £28,598–£32,061 FTE (pay award pending). Generous sick pay and pension scheme available.

  • Supporting pupils to access learning and achieve their individual goals.

  • Supporting the development of communication, literacy, numeracy, life skills and personal development.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and acting as a consistent and supportive role model.

We're looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated and supportive team. Working alongside teachers and other professionals, you'll help pupils access learning, build confidence, develop independence and achieve meaningful progress both in and beyond the classroom. Whether you're supporting a pupil to communicate their thoughts, celebrating a breakthrough in learning, encouraging resilience or helping a young person achieve something they once thought impossible, your contribution will have a lasting impact.

What you'll be doing
  • Supporting pupils to access learning and achieve their individual goals.

  • Encouraging positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence.
  • Supporting pupils with personal care, health and physical needs where required.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Contributing to educational visits, enrichment activities and the wider life of the school.
  • Playing an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
