Job summary

Academics Ltd is seeking an SEN Learning Support Assistant to help children with special educational needs access the curriculum in Sutton Coldfield. You will support pupils across Key Stages, assisting with tasks and promoting engagement and progress.

The role requires someone who can work with children with autism, cerebral palsy, MLD, SpLD, or other SEN barriers, using effective communication and inclusive practices to foster confidence and independence.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teaching Assistant with experience of children with a disability or SEN.
• Experience working in school environments.
• Able to hold student attention with excellent communication.

SEN Learning Support Assistant

Could you support children with special educational needs to access education in Sutton Coldfield? We provide staff to schools across the area, and we believe in the values of kindness, inclusion, and respect- does this sound like you?

Do you have experience of supporting pupils with SEN requirements, additional needs, or disabilities? Are you confident in working with children with autism, cerebral palsy, MLD, SpLD, or other SEN barriers? Have you ever had experience with PECS, Makaton, BSL, or any communication method, and are looking for work in Newcastle under Lyme?

The Job…

You'll be kept busy, working with pupils across Key Stages within the classroom to access their education. Your days will be varied, supporting children to engage with tasks set by the class teacher, and reach their potential. You'll take initiative, be resilient, and drive pupils to achieve and progress. You'll work on learning activities, promote confidence, and encourage pupils to act independently to succeed.

You'll Be…
