Job summary

The Link Academy Trust is seeking a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant for 16.5 hours per week, to support two KS1 pupils with complex needs. The role offers in-class assistance, tailored interventions, and close collaboration with teachers and families.

Fixed term from November 2026, with flexible day arrangements (Wednesday, Friday, plus another half-day by negotiation). Experience with SEN desirable and a nurturing approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Be able to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
• Have good English and Maths skills.
• Have high expectations of children’s behaviour and be able to maintain consistent boundaries.
• Be willing to work as part of a team and have a good sense of humour.
• Be able to use your own initiative when required.
• Have experience in a similar role in a school.
• Have prior knowledge and experience of working with children with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support for two pupils with complex educational needs.
• Deliver tailored interventions and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to plan inclusive learning.
