Job summary

YMCA Andover is hiring a SEN Keyworker to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with additional needs within our nursery. You will help the child participate in daily activities, build confidence and independence, and work closely with EY colleagues and families.

The role focuses on relationships, patience and consistency, ensuring the child belongs and participates fully in nursery life. Prior SEND experience is valued and safeguarding knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification required and experience of supporting children with disabilities or additional needs on a 1:1 basis.
• Good understanding of safeguarding and experience of supporting behaviour.
• Experience with SEND from babies to age five is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent 1:1 support for a designated child.
• Assist with participation in activities alongside peers.
• Follow individual care and support plans and safeguarding procedures.
• Maintain clear communication with parents and carers and complete daily handovers.
