A school in King's Lynn is seeking an experienced SEN HLTA to provide dedicated support for pupils with Special Educational Needs. Responsibilities include delivering learning activities, leading interventions, and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans. The ideal candidate will have HLTA status, significant experience in this field, and a strong commitment to student welfare.
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEN HLTA to join a wonderful team, providing high-quality support for pupils with Special Educational Needs across the school. Beginning September 2025.
Duties as a SEN HLTA:
Deliver planned learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes under the direction of the class teacher and SENDCo.
Assist in planning, preparing, and adapting resources to meet the needs of pupils with a range of additional needs.
Lead targeted interventions to support pupils’ academic progress, social skills, and emotional wellbeing.
Support and guide other teaching assistants working with SEN pupils.
Monitor, assess, and record pupils’ progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and relevant staff.
Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Foster a positive, inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Support the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils.
Ideal SEN HLTA:
HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
Significant experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
Strong understanding of a range of SEN strategies and interventions.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills as a SEN HLTA.
Ability to show initiative and work independently when required.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
