Are you a passionate and experienced HLTA looking to support children with special educational needs in a mainstream primary school setting?
We are seeking a SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Banstead, supporting pupils aged 4–11 on a 1:1 basis or in small group interventions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on making a real difference in children’s educational journeys—particularly those with ASD, social-emotional needs, or anxiety-related challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of SEN needs
* Support emotional regulation and build resilience in pupils
* Promote positive relationships and social skills development
* Assist in managing behaviour in a nurturing and proactive way
* Foster pupils' self-esteem, confidence, and independence
* Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCo to plan and deliver tailored interventions
* Contribute to EHCP targets and regular pupil progress reviews
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths (or equivalent) – essential
HLTA status (Level 4 or equivalent qualification or demonstrable skill level) – essential
Experience supporting pupils with autism, SEMH, or additional needs in a school setting
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Relevant training in mental health, emotional literacy, or behaviour management – desirable

Job Title: SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Mainstream Primary – Banstead
Hours: 8:30-3:30 Monday-Friday
Start Date: ASAP depending on your availability
