Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in the Bolton area, starting in September. This is a full-time role in a specialist school that supports children and young people with complex learning difficulties, Autism, and physical disabilities.

The Role

As a HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff to deliver engaging and accessible learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead learning activities and interventions for individuals, small groups, and whole classes where required.
  • Support teachers with planning, preparation, and delivery of lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Promote pupil engagement, independence, and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Support pupils with complex SEND, adapting approaches to suit a variety of learning styles and communication needs.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Assist with behaviour support strategies and contribute to maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
