Job summary

Queen Alexandra College is seeking a part-time Health and Social Care Tutor to deliver Level 1–3 content in a vocational setting. The role focuses on highly individualised learning approaches, with term-time hours and a 21.6-hour week.

The post is within the Vocational team, reporting to the Curriculum Area Manager, and requires collaboration with a co-tutor to support students with diverse needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong teaching qualifications, inclusive practice, and

Qualifications

• Degree with at least 2.2 grade and relevant teaching qualification.
• Experience delivering learning to learners with SEN and high-need learners.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
• Ability to plan differentiated lessons and assess using ILPs and EHCPs.
• Flexible, team-oriented and capable of workload management.

Responsibilities

• Teach Health and Social Care to levels 1 to 3, including exams.
• Collaborate with a second part-time tutor within the Vocational team.
• Develop differentiated schemes of work and lesson plans.
• Assess learner progress and maintain records of ILPs and EHCPs.
• Use ICT and assistive tech to support learners and engagement.
• Contribute to curriculum development and safeguarding compliance.
• Deliver PSHE and pastoral welfare as part of learner journey.
