SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) - Leeds

Location: Primary/Secondary Schools across Leeds. Job Type: Long-term. Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience.

Are you an experienced SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting students 1:1 in schools across Leeds? Aspire People are currently recruiting for high-demand SEN 1:1 TA positions within alternative provisions, pupil referral units (PRUs), and mainstream schools for September 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.
  • Work within alternative provisions, PRUs, and mainstream schools, supporting students with challenging behaviour.
  • Assist in implementing EHCPs and individual behaviour management strategies.
  • Build positive relationships to support students\' academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to create a nurturing learning environment.
Requirements
  • UK Bachelor\'s degree related to SEN like Psychology
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN in the UK (essential).
  • Strong behaviour management skills - experience dealing with challenging behaviour is a must.
  • Patience, resilience, and a passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service. (or willing to pay for one)
  • Ability to provide two years of references.
