About the Role

Aspire People are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to work in an outstanding primary school with children who have ASD. This is a challenging yet rewarding role, ideal for candidates who are experienced in working with young people with SEN and have a passion for making a positive impact on SEN children.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting children with ASD, some non-verbal, some with behavioural challenges and emotional struggles.
  • Working closely with the school\'s SENCo to discuss challenges, and monitor progress
  • Supporting children both academically and socially to help them feel included and engaged with other children
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children to support their personal development and wellbeing
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a UK school
  • Previous experience working in a SEND role or with SEN children
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviour
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • A proactive and resilient attitude towards supporting children with complex needs
