The Role
As an SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils across the school who have additional needs, focusing mainly on autism and ADHD. You’ll deliver targeted interventions; help manage sensory and behavioural challenges and adapt learning resources to suit individual needs. Your support will take place in the classroom, in small group settings, and through dedicated 1:1 sessions, always working closely with the class teacher and SENCO.
The Candidate
You’re a graduate with a calm, patient nature and a strong interest in SEN. You might be considering a future in educational psychology, teaching, or therapy, and want practical school-based experience. Experience working with children or young people in any setting—especially those with additional needs—is highly desirable. You’ll need to be observant, proactive, and able to build trust quickly.
