Job summary

Christ Church First School in Frome is seeking a SEN and general Teaching Assistant to join our caring, experienced team. This fixed-term role runs until 31 August 2027, with 32.5 hours weekly during term time plus two additional days, supporting pupils with diverse needs and promoting inclusion.

You will work closely with the class teacher to support learning, development and wellbeing, fostering a supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and encouraged to reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Ability to work closely with class teachers and support staff.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support learning and wellbeing of pupils under guidance of the class teacher.
• Provide consistent, nurturing support for pupils with additional needs.
• Contribute to a safe, welcoming classroom environment and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with staff and parents to monitor progress.
