Make a Real Impact as an SEN Functional Skills Tutor.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced SEN Tutor with a proven track record of success in teaching Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 1. Our tutors are skilled at developing and delivering engaging and informative lesson plans, assessing student learning, and providing academic support. They are also effective communicators and have a strong ability to build relationships with students.

• This job is in person in the Hackney area
• Hour(s): 10 hours per week, building up to 15 hours
• Day(s) and Time(s): Monday - Friday // During school hours
• Subject and Level: Maths and English Functional Skills - Entry Level 1

What You'll Do

• Develop and deliver tuition programmes in small groups or 1:1
• Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individuals/groups needs and study level
• Assessing any barriers to student’s learning and working to overcome these
• Monitoring student progress and producing reports
• Creating a positive and supportive learning environment
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you're providing subject tuition in
• Regularly reporting updates to the Tuition Programmes Manager

Requirements

We're looking for someone who has:

• 2+ years of tutoring / teaching experience
• Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and SEMH Needs
• Experience working with students with developmental difficulties
• Experience teaching lower primary level English and Maths
• An ability to adapt lessons to suit different learning styles and needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Right to be self employed in the UK
