Details:
You'll work 1:1 with a Reception-aged child with Down Syndrome, supporting them throughout the school day. Your focus will be on helping them access learning, build communication skills, and feel safe and supported in class. You'll follow the child's EHCP, work closely with the class teacher and SENCO, and adapt activities to meet their needs. You'll also support with transitions, routines, and positive behaviour.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with children, preferably in a school or nursery setting, and some understanding of SEN. You should be calm, consistent, and nurturing, with a genuine interest in early years education. Experience in speech and language support, Makaton, or working with children with developmental delays is advantageous. Reliability, proactivity, and a full-year commitment are essential.
