Job Description

Position: English Teacher for SEMH School in South London (CR3)

About the school: Melrose School is a specialist school catering for pupils aged 5-16 years with EHCPs. The students primarily have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with some additional needs such as ADHD, trauma, or speech and language needs. The school focuses on a nurturing environment, working alongside CAMHS, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists, social workers, and mentors.

Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Full Time, 5 days per week

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: Paid according to experience and qualifications

Contract: Long-term position with potential to become permanent

Roles and Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for primary core subjects tailored to students’ needs
• Understand students' individual difficulties and focus on supporting their personal experiences
• Prepare students for internal secondary school

Requirements

• Proven experience teaching children with special educational needs (SEN), particularly in an SEMH setting
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A current DBS check registered on the Update Service
• The right to work in the UK
