Job summary

A recruitment agency in education is seeking a qualified SEN English Subject Lead to work in a Pupil Referral Unit in Harrow Weald. Qualifications

Contract: Long-term, temp to perm

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Location: Harrow Weald, Northwest London

Pay: According to your teaching scale + TLR for subject leadership

About the School

A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) that provides education for students aged 5 to 16 years who are unable to attend mainstream school. The centre supports a small cohort of approximately 35 to 36 pupils. It has been rated 'Good' in all evaluated areas by Ofsted and offers a tailored, supportive environment to meet the diverse needs of its learners.

What We\'re Looking For
  • A qualified Teacher with experience working in SEN or SEMH settings
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and coordinate the English curriculum
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence in planning and delivering differentiated lessons
  • A creative, hands-on approach to teaching practical subjects
  • An understanding of trauma-informed practice and supporting disengaged learners
Essential Requirements
  • QTS or QTLS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching students with SEN/SEMH
  • A valid Enhanced DBS (Child & Adult Workforce) registered on the Update Service
  • Two recent professional references (ideally from an education setting)
