Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Cover Supervisor - SEN English to join a supportive specialist SEND school in Silverstone, Northamptonshire. You will deliver English lessons, support pupils with reading, writing, spelling and communication, and adapt resources to meet individual SEND needs.

The role is long-term maternity cover with a potential temp-to-perm, based in a rural Silverstone setting, offering weekly pay and a collaborative school team.

Qualifications

• Experienced Cover Supervisor or HLTA with a strong English focus.
• Experience delivering or supporting English lessons to pupils.
• Ability to support pupils with SEND/SEN needs in English learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and supervise planned English lessons and activities.
• Support reading, writing, spelling, grammar and communication skills.
• Support individuals and small groups with English development.
• Adapt resources to meet SEND needs.
• Support pupils toward Functional Skills and English qualifications.
• Manage the classroom and maintain a calm, positive learning environment.
• Work with teachers and support staff to deliver learning goals.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback; support behaviour and engagement.
