Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated Cover SEN Teacher to support pupils with a range of special educational needs across West Yorkshire. You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons and contribute to individual learning targets within specialist SEN settings.

Responsibilities include planning, assessing progress, collaborating with TAs, therapists and families, and maintaining inclusive, safe learning environments.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification desirable.
• Enhanced DBS check mandatory.
• Experience working with children/young people with additional needs in educational or support settings.
• Specialist training such as Team Teach, safeguarding or positive behaviour support advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Contribute to EHCPs, IEPs and personalised targets.
• Monitor progress, assess outcomes and maintain records.
• Implement positive behaviour strategies and support emotional regulation.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, parents and other professionals.
• Deliver life skills and personal development activities.
• Plan sensory-based activities and Zones of Regulation strategies.
• Cover wider PSHE and daily living topics as required.
• Participate in professional development and school activities.
