A forward-thinking post-16 institution in Birmingham is seeking a Full-Time Lecturer to provide counselling and career guidance to SEND learners. This role combines emotional support with creative media education, offering a unique opportunity to positively impact students' lives.

Academics are currently working with a forward-thinking post-16 institution which specialises in creative media education for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The college are urgently looking to appoint a Full - Time Lecturer who can combine counselling and career guidance to support the emotional well-being and future planning of its students.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified counsellor with a passion for creativity, education, and supporting young people with additional needs.
The college is based in central Birmingham.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
* Provide 1:1 and group counselling to SEND learners, supporting emotional regulation, mental health, and well-being.
* Deliver personalised career guidance, particularly related to pathways in creative media and related industries.
* Work collaboratively with academic staff to ensure the social, emotional, and personal development needs of learners are met.
* Create and monitor individual support and progress plans, helping students build confidence and resilience.
* Optionally, support curriculum delivery by running creative media workshops using Adobe software (e.g. Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* A certified counsellor with professional qualifications and experience in an educational or SEND setting.
* Strong understanding of the challenges facing post-16 SEND learners.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to tailor support approaches to meet the diverse and individualised needs of students.
* Immediate availability.
Desirable:
* Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, etc.).
* Experience teaching or delivering creative workshops to young learners.
