GSL Education are looking for a dedicated SEN Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Bexhill. This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone who’s passionate about inclusive education and is eager to support pupils with additional learning needs in a warm, structured environment.
You’ll be working in a classroom setting, offering both 1:1 and group support to students with a range of needs including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. You'll be part of a collaborative team, helping to create a calm and positive learning space.
Support the teacher in delivering tailored lessons to meet pupils’ individual needs
Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation
Promote independence and build confidence in pupils
Use visual aids and communication strategies where needed
Foster a safe and inclusive environment where every child feels supported
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
A patient, empathetic and adaptable attitude
Good communication and the ability to work well in a team
A commitment to the wellbeing and progress of every pupil
Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
