Job Description:
Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress, and development.
About the Role:
- The role involves planning and teaching engaging lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and enable all pupils to make progress.
- Working with secondary-aged pupils within a PRU setting who have various SEN and challenging behaviors.
- Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create inspiring learning environments.
- Managing challenging behavior in a positive, proactive, and consistent manner.
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
- Using varied assessment methods to monitor pupil progress.
- Displaying enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with children.
- Collaborating effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure the best educational experience for children.

- The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Newcastle.
- The school supports pupils across the secondary age range who have been excluded from mainstream school.
- The school has an outstanding supportive culture and leadership team, where staff work as a team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours, and Contract:
- Pay: Between £130-200 per day.
- Hours: Full-time.
- Contract: Temporary, until the end of the academic year in July 2025.
- Start Date: ASAP.
- Location: Newcastle.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Enhanced DBS (preferably on the Update Service, but a new one can be processed if needed).
- QTS and teaching experience in UK primary or secondary settings.
- Strong behavior management skills, as challenging behavior is common in this setting.
- Experience using various methods to assess pupil progress.
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and rapport development.
- A positive, resilient attitude towards teaching and work.
- Genuine passion for teaching.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
