Job Description:

Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Sunderland on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role:

* The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.
* Working with KS2 and KS3 aged pupils within a PRU setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour
* Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
* Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
* Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
* Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
* Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
* Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience

About the School:

* The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Sunderland.
* The School supports pupils across the KS2 and KS3 age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism.
* The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

* Pay – Between £130-180 per day
* Hours –
* Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.

* Location – Sunderland

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

* An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
* QTS and Teaching experience in either Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK.
* Strong Behaviour Management skills
* Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
* Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
* Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
* A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
* Experience of Teaching within the UK
* A genuine passion for Teaching
* Strong organisation and communication skills
