A local authority council is seeking a SEN Casework Co-ordinator for a 1-year temporary contract. The role involves managing relationships, overseeing EHC needs assessments, and ensuring compliance with SEND legislation. Applicants should have excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to supervise a team. The position allows for flexible working from home but requires attendance at The Portal in Ellesmere Port once a week.
The SEN Team are seeking to recruit a SEN Casework Co-ordinator on a temporary for 1 year contract to cover maternity leave.This role will require a proven track record of building relationships and negotiating effectively with educational settings, budget management, demonstrating understanding of Local Authority High Needs Block financial controls and SEND legislation including the Council's home to school travel assistance policy.
The post holder will have excellent inter-personal skills with the ability to develop effective collaborative working relationships with a range of colleagues, including external stakeholders to get the best outcomes for the children and young people with SEND.
The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will need to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the relevant SEND legislation and supervise a team in the delivery of effective and timely responses to EHC needs requests, assessments and annual reviews of EHC Plans.
Good organisational, time management and leadership skills are essential along with strong working knowledge of IT systems such as Microsoft Office.
The position has flexibility to offer working from home, however there is an expectation to attend The Portal in Ellesmere Port one day per week on a Tuesday. The role will require the ability to travel across the borough of Cheshire West and Chester to attend meetings.
