Reception Class 1:1 Teaching Assistant , ASD

Location : Swindon, SN2

September, 1 year fixed contract

I am working with a lovely academy located in Swindon, looking for a compassionate individual ,to join the team as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for an ASD individual in Reception. Staff are incredibly ambitious for students for students with additional needs. Special Educational Need (SEN) Staff are fully supportive in the development of these students with varying needs in order to help them reach their full potential.

Start date is September and on a 1 year fixed contract with the school. As a Teaching Assistant for an ASD child, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive and supportive learning experience for this child. You will help the student feel comfortable and engaged in lessons

Responsibilities :

  • Tailoring instruction and materials to meet the individual needs.
  • Providing one-on-one support.
  • Monitoring progress of the student in order to adapt material appropriately.
  • Ensure classroom is safe and secure
  • Support positive behaviour and help the student emotionally regulate.

Requirements :

  • Experience working with SEN Children
  • Passion for working with children with additional needs ; enthusiasm to create a positive relationship and environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to work with other teachers and to keep parents updated.
  • Understanding of child safeguarding procedures
  • Patience and resilience in the supportive learning environment
