Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking dedicated SEN and SEND Teachers and Teaching Assistants to work in various schools across Peterborough. If you are a compassionate and skilled educator looking for a rewarding role, we would love to hear from you!
THE ROLE
Depending on the role and school, duties may include:
- Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory impairments, and emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Delivering tailored lessons and interventions that cater to individual learning needs.
- Assisting with the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and working closely with SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to ensure pupil progress and well-being.
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:
We welcome applications from candidates with any experience in SEN/SEND positions within UK schools. Qualifications and experience may include:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / Newly Qualified Teacher (ECT/NQT) / Unqualified with relevant experience.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools.
- CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- A relevant degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- NASENCO qualification (for SENCO roles).
- Additional training such as Team Teach, Makaton, PECS, or Autism Awareness (desirable).
Previous experience working with children with SEN or SEND is essential.
