Job summary

Peterborough Limited is seeking a SEN Activity Assistant to work with the Health and Wellbeing Team, developing disability activity clubs during term time and school holidays. The role is 3 hours a week, offering a supportive, inclusive environment for children and young people aged 7-19 with SEN.

You will help deliver a range of leisure activities such as reading, arts and crafts, games, exercise and sports, adapting to individual communication needs and ensuring everyone can participate safely

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality adaptable and inclusive activities.
• Maintain high level of communication with colleagues, children and parents.
• Use a range of communication methods during sessions.
• Be responsible for the safety of participants and colleagues during sessions.
• Provide personal care when required.
• Report any First Aid & Safeguarding incidents to the Leader.
• Input into development of the programme.
• Attend mandatory training courses.

About you

Do you have a passion for creating an inclusive environment in leisure activities?

Would you love to work alongside the Health and Wellbeing Team on an amazing opportunity to develop disability activity clubs during term time.

This role involves being part of a team delivering a range of leisure activities, for children and young people aged 7-19yrs with Special Educational Needs. Activities include reading, arts and crafts, games, exercise, sports.

You can change communication styles to suit individuals and enjoy the challenge of creating activities that enable all participants to achieve their goals. You will be able to enthuse participants to become active in a fun and sociable environment whilst being sensitive to an individuals' needs.

Job Deliverables
