Job summary

A local educational institution in Wednesbury is seeking an SEN Academic Coach to support students with Autism through tailored interventions. SEN Academic Coach

*** £85 - £98 per day
*** Secondary school location: Walsall

The Role:
As an SEN Academic Coach, you’ll work within the school’s inclusion team to provide tailored support to students with Autism. You will run small group interventions, offer one-to-one assistance, and help pupils access the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs. Your role will also involve collaborating with teachers, adapting resources, and promoting positive learning experiences.

The Candidate:
You should hold a degree in any subject and demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong communication skills. An understanding of Autism and a genuine interest in supporting students with SEN is essential. Previous experience in a similar role or working with young people who have additional needs will be highly regarded.

Requirements

- Degree – A 2:2 or above in any subject.
- Communication – Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
- Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
- Desire to work in education/with children – A genuine commitment to supporting students with SEN.
- Experience working with children – Any relevant experience such as mentoring, tutoring, or supporting students with additional needs is desirable but not essential.
