SEN 1:1 Support Assistant – Inclusive Primary School – Islington

An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Islington is seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN 1:1 Support Assistant to join their team from April 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with a child who has additional needs, providing them with the tailored support they need to thrive academically and socially in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Role Highlights:
  • Full-time, permanent position at an inclusive primary school in Islington
  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs, including autism (ASC), speech and language difficulties, or moderate learning needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement strategies and interventions tailored to the student’s individual needs
  • Support the student both in the classroom and during other school activities, ensuring they are fully engaged and integrated into school life
  • Help build the student's confidence, social skills, and independence, fostering positive relationships with peers and staff
  • Monitor the student’s progress, providing feedback and adjustments to support their development
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development to ensure continuous growth and learning
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (preferred)
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children with additional needs
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
  • A positive, proactive attitude to supporting children’s learning and development
  • Enhanced DBS check required
