Job summary

Caterpillar Larne Site is seeking a Semi-Skilled Welder for temporary ongoing work. You will weld using MMA/MIG and read complex drawings, fabricating components like containers and skid bases. Training toward NVQ Level 3 is provided with paid study time, while maintaining safety and quality at all times.

Flexible to day and night shifts, with overtime available. Enjoy full site benefits and progression through the NVQ pathway in a lean, maintenance‑heavy environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Fabrication/Welding or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Strong arithmetic and following detailed technical instructions.
• Willingness to work both day and night rotations, with overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MMA/MIG welding, gas welding, brazing, and soldering on containers and skid bases.
• Fabricate, modify, and rework complex structures often without prints or fixtures.
• Interpret drawings and plan work sequences while ensuring safety and quality.
• Mentor and train teammates when needed, upholding company values.
