Role purpose:
Based at GKN's Global Technology Centre (postcode: BS34 6FB), this role involves operating and maintaining laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) equipment for 3D printed parts production. GKN's Additive Manufacturing (AM) arm specializes in Laser Powder Bed Fusion, an advanced process for high-precision, dense metal components.
The technician will set up, calibrate, and operate the system, monitor build quality, material consistency, and machine performance, and perform post-processing of parts while maintaining safety and cleanliness standards.
*Candidates must have good mechanical skills, interpret technical drawings, and follow instructions.*
Pay rate: £18 per hour PAYE (plus holiday pay), initially 6 months with potential for extension or permanent employment.
Standard hours: 37 hours/week, core hours 7am-4pm with flexible start/finish times.
Shift pattern: Monday to Thursday, early finish on Fridays.
