Role – Semi Skilled Operative - Crawley Hire & Service Centre

Hourly rate: £15.32 per hour + London Weighting

Opportunity to earn additional hourly rate between £0.25 - £4.38 based on skill set and behaviours.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Semi Skilled Operative to join our successful team at Portakabin Hire & Service Centre based in Crawley.

In this role, you will refurbish and fit out our buildings to high standards, carrying out rectifications, as well as supporting installation and dismantling alongside our hauliers.

Role Responsibilities

1. Undertake preparation/decoration of all surfaces, internal and external.
2. Carry out basic joinery tasks such as partition walls, doors, and windows.
3. Perform basic plumbing tasks including sink and toilet assembly, waste and drainage, copper and push fit fittings.
4. Support basic electrical work like sockets, heaters, and lighting, including first fix on site.
5. Assist in fitting out and refurbishing buildings both on and off site.
6. Operate access platforms and mechanical plant for work above ground level.
7. Ensure health and safety policies are followed, report hazards and near misses.
8. Support team in providing customer-focused and efficient service.
9. Prioritize the reuse of fittings and materials without compromising quality.
10. Proven experience in joinery, plumbing, painting, decorating, and electrics.
11. Build effective relationships with customers and staff.
12. Accept demanding goals and approach them enthusiastically.
13. Good organization and planning skills.
14. Ability to plan, organize, and solve problems.
15. Experience in customer focus and decision making.
16. Full UK Driving Licence.
