Semi Skilled Fitter

Based at Manchester International Depot

3 Month Contract

£27p/h Umbrella

Day Shift

Ganymede Solutions is working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies to recruit a Semi Skilled Fitter for their digital equipment installation projects at Manchester International Depot. Ganymede Solutions is an AIM-listed recruitment agency specializing in transportation, infrastructure, construction, and engineering sectors.

You will work on a digitalisation upgrade project, assisting with modifications to digital equipment and facilities for the fleet.

The Role:

As a Semi Skilled Fitter, your responsibilities include assisting with electrical installations for digital upgrades, such as wiring and fitting Wi-Fi, ethernet backbone, NVR/CCTV, passenger information systems, USB sockets, and driver’s cab upgrades.

The Position:

Day shifts only, Monday to Friday, with a standard 50-hour workweek.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience in electrical assembly, sub-assembly, panel wiring, or electrical improvements (commercial or industrial).
  • Clear communication skills to ensure high-quality work within deadlines.
  • Proactive attitude supporting team efforts.
  • Availability to start on 2nd June.
  • Ability to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test.
  • Ability to pass a full railway medical examination (including sight, hearing, colour vision, heart, lungs, brain).
  • Provision of right to work documentation before deployment.
  • Helpful and positive attitude.
