Semi Skilled Fitter

Rate: £27 per hour (Umbrella)

About the Role

Ganymede Solutions is working with one of the largest UK Train Operating Companies to recruit a Semi Skilled Fitter for their digital equipment installation modifications at Manchester International Depot. We are a listed recruitment agency specializing in transportation, infrastructure, construction, and engineering sectors.

You will be involved in a multi-million-pound digitalization upgrade, focusing on modifying digital equipment and facilities across the fleet.

Responsibilities

• Assist in electrical installations for digital upgrades
• Perform basic wiring and fitting tasks for Wi-Fi, Ethernet backbone, NVR/CCTV, passenger information systems, USB sockets, and driver cab upgrades

Details

This is a day-only position, Monday to Friday, with a standard 50-hour workweek.

Requirements

• Experience in electrical assembly, sub-assembly, panel wiring, or electrical improvements (commercial or industrial)
• Clear communication skills to ensure high standards and timely completion

• Pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
• Pass a comprehensive railway medical including sight, hearing, colour vision, heart, lungs, and brain assessments
• Provide Right to Work documentation before deployment
• Positive attitude and willingness to help
