We are looking for a Semi-Skilled Engineer with a strong manufacturing background to carry out the day-to-day maintenance tasks and site facility repairs and to assist operations in achieving maximum productivity.

The role of Semi-Skilled Engineer

Complete fault finding, planned and preventative maintenance on building, plant and equipment to maximise equipment reliability and performance.

Carry out fault finding, problem solving and establish route cause fixes to address equipment issues.

Maintain ongoing communications with the operations team ensuring they are fully aware of all relevant site services activities and schedules.

Respond to internal customer needs to maximise production up time according to given priorities.

Comply with food safety standards and controls to ensure all work is carried out correctly and safely.

Record any stock removed from the Engineering stores to ensure accurate stock control.

Complete all necessary documentation ensuring that it is kept accurate and is audit ready.

Identify and recommend opportunities for improvements to promote Health & Safety and/or operational efficiency and effectiveness

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Time served accredited apprentice or equivalent experience with appropriate certification would be an advantage but not required depending on experience.

Maintenance of Engineering Systems within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage. (CMMS Systems)

Experience with using various power tools such as drills, grinders, welders and hand tools etc.

Experience in plumbing, boilers, steam, electrical, sealing and flooring applications.

Experience of working within a manufacturing or in FMCG environment, preferably within the food industry.

The ability to read, follow and drawings.

The ability to learn quickly and adapt.

Must have the ability to prioritise work to suit the business needs.

A pro-active and positive approach to engineering with a can-do attitude.
