Job summary

Winsearch UK are recruiting two Semi-Skilled Fitters for a leading aerospace manufacturer in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester. The roles involve aircraft structural and airframe assembly, drilling, riveting, fitting and component installation to exact drawings and specifications.

Ideal candidates will have experience in aerospace or manufacturing assembly, ability to read engineering drawings, and a strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, aviation, engineering or manufacturing assembly.
• Experience in structural assembly or airframe fitting.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience drilling, countersinking, riveting, sealants, helicoils, bearings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out aircraft structural and airframe assembly operations in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Perform drilling, countersinking, riveting and associated fitting activities.
• Install and fit bearings, bushes, helicoils and other aerospace components.
• Apply sealants and adhesives in accordance with process requirements.
• Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and work instructions.
• Maintain a safe and organised working environment in line with company Health & Safety procedures and 5S standards.
• Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to meet manufacturing schedules and customer requirements.
• Report any defects, quality concerns or equipment issues promptly.

Semi-Skilled Fitters Required - Aerospace Manufacturing

Winsearch UK are currently recruiting for two Semi-Skilled Fitters on behalf of a leading aerospace manufacturing business based in Dukinfield. The successful candidates will have previous experience in structural assembly or aerospace manufacturing and will be responsible for carrying out a variety of fitting and assembly operations to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out aircraft structural and airframe assembly operations in line with engineering drawings and specifications.


• Perform drilling, countersinking, riveting and associated fitting activities.


• Install and fit bearings, bushes, helicoils and other aerospace components.


• Apply sealants and adhesives in accordance with process requirements.

Candidate Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience within an aerospace, aviation, engineering or manufacturing assembly environment.


• Experience of structural assembly or airframe fitting activities.


• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Selection Process

Candidates who are shortlisted will be invited to attend a two-stage interview process.

As part of the final stage, applicants will be required to undertake a practical trade test to demonstrate their ability to carry out assembly and fitting processes to aerospace quality standards.
