Semi-Senior / Trainee Accountant – Accountancy Practice
Full-time | Bedford | Study Support Available (ACA/ACCA)

Are you a motivated individual looking to build or develop your career in a supportive and forward-thinking accountancy practice?

We’re working with a well-established and highly respected independent firm of chartered accountants in Bedford who are looking to expand their friendly team with the addition of a Semi-Senior or Trainee Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone either at the start of their accountancy journey or with a year or two of practice experience under their belt, ready to progress further with their studies and career.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You'll be supporting a varied client base across a wide range of sectors, gaining valuable hands-on experience in key areas of accountancy, including:

  • Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

  • Assisting on audit assignments

  • Completing VAT returns and bookkeeping using cloud-based systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks)

  • Supporting personal and corporate tax compliance work

  • Liaising with clients and helping them navigate financial matters with clarity and confidence

What We’re Looking For:
  • Some existing experience in a UK accountancy practice environment (ideal but not essential)

  • A genuine interest in pursuing (or continuing) ACA or ACCA qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn

  • Great communication skills and a team player attitude

  • Ideally located within a reasonable commute to Bedford
