We are actively recruiting for a rare job opportunity with a leading accountancy firm based within a short commute of Kettering, Corby, Oakham, Melton Mowbray, Stamford, and parts of Leicester, available at Semi-Senior Accountant up to Senior Accountant level.

The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level, so is open within reason, with hybrid working, flexible hours and excellent benefits on offer in a modern employer with great offices.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare year end accounts files for clients with supporting schedules for all balance sheet items and profit and loss
  • Assist with weekly and monthly work for clients, dealing with client queries
  • Attend client’s premises to conduct bookkeeping work
  • Assist and train clients with accounting systems including Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, Dext and Autoentry
  • Set up accounting systems to include year-end VAT information
  • Provide trainees with on-the-job training and delegate work
  • Manage and monitor workflow and the progression of assignments
  • Bookkeeping, including preparing, processing, and recording bank transactions, processing purchase, sales, and general ledger entries and producing reports
  • Prepare management accounts and reports specific to clients’ needs
  • Prepare VAT returns
  • Provide constructive accounting advice to clients
  • Liaise with tax, payroll and accounts teams regarding clients
