Job summary

Catering in Harrogate is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join our well-established practice, offering strong training, mentorship and clear progression.

You will work on year-end accounts for SME clients, VAT returns, payroll support and basic tax work, with 2+ years' experience in practice and ACA/ACCA/AAT study encouraged.

This on-site role includes direct guidance from senior staff and partners, a supportive team environment and genuine long-term career growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience within an accountancy practice.
• AAT/ACA/ACCA studier - support can be provided.
• Positive and proactive attitude toward professional development.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, supporting more junior members.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts for a variety of SME clients
• Supporting the audit team with statutory audit assignments
• Preparing and submitting VAT Returns
• Assisting with bookkeeping and financial record maintenance
• Supporting payroll processing for a range of clients
• Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax compliance work
• Learning core accounting and compliance processes across general practice
• Working closely with senior team members on client assignments
• Building technical knowledge while progressing through professional qualifications
• Supporting wider practice administration and client service delivery
