Sheridan Maine is recruiting newly qualified accountants on behalf of a highly regarded and growing accountancy firm in Hertfordshire, which is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join its dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with practice experience who is eager to develop within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
  2. Assisting with corporate and personal tax returns.
  3. Managing bookkeeping tasks and VAT returns.
  4. Supporting audit assignments (where applicable).
  5. Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries.
  6. Supporting senior accountants and managers on ad hoc tasks.
  7. Using cloud-based accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
Requirements:
  1. Part-qualified ACA / ACCA or AAT qualified.
  2. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice.
  3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and tax.
  4. Excellent communication skills and client-facing experience.
  5. Strong IT skills, including cloud-based platforms.
  6. A proactive, team-focused attitude with a desire to learn and progress.
