Job description

Our fantastic client, a Financial Services company based in Castle Donington, are looking for a Semi- Senior Accountant to join their friendly team. You will carry out a range of accounting tasks for a range of clients.

Permanent role.

£26,000 - £29,000 depending on experience.

Monday to Friday.

Semi- Senior Accountant - The Role:
  1. Preparation of statutory accounts including bank reconciliation, control account reconciliation, fixed asset accounting, calculation of debtors and creditors, nominal ledger accounting and preparation of trial balance.
  2. Submitting Year End accounts using accounts production software.
  3. Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
  4. Maintaining accounts for clients to the required standard.
  5. Personal tax returns.
  6. Corporation tax computations.
  7. Assisting the team in carrying out internal audit work.
  8. Dealing with client queries and liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  9. Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and financial forecasts.
  10. General book-keeping on behalf of multiple clients using relevant accounting systems (including Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, Digita and IRIS).
  11. Visit client premises to set up and maintain book-keeping records and quarterly VAT returns.
Semi- Senior Accountant - The Candidate:
  1. Have a strong understanding of accounts preparation and be either qualified, part qualified or qualified by experience.
  2. Experience with cloud software such as SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks and Free Agent.
  3. Being proficient in Digita would be beneficial.
  4. Multi-tasking abilities.
  5. Ability to prioritise.
  6. Ability to develop and maintain client relations. Ensure a high level of service to meet client expectations.
  7. Building up good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
  8. Working as part of a team as well as independently.
  9. Good commercial awareness.
  10. Tax planning and structures are an advantage.
