Job description

Semi-Senior Accountant

My client is a successful, well-established accountancy practice based in Ashford, Middlesex. With over 20 years of experience, they serve a diverse range of clients across various industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple client accounts and will play a key role within a friendly, motivated team.

Responsibilities:

1. Process data into clients' accounts from manual and automated sources
2. Liaise regularly with clients
3. Prepare bank reconciliations
4. Prepare and submit VAT returns
5. Manage payrolls and CIS schemes for clients
6. Prepare accounts to trial balance, including prepayments, accruals, and depreciation
7. Maintain clients' fixed asset registers
8. Prepare management reports
9. Prepare self-assessment tax returns

Candidate Requirements:

• 2-3 years experience in an accountancy practice
• Working with a variety of clients
• ACCA/AAT qualified or part-qualified
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Experience in a multi-client environment
• Accounts preparation experience
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience with IRIS software is advantageous
• Experience using Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, DEXT, BRIGHT
