Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Core Subjects Tutor to support KS3 students in Maths, English and Science. Sessions are face-to-face in community settings or at the student’s home in Spennymoor, with flexible scheduling.

You will develop personalised lesson plans, help students overcome barriers to learning, and monitor progress while maintaining a safe, encouraging learning environment. Regular attendance records and progress reports are required.

Qualifications

• Experience tutoring KS3 students, with diverse learning needs.
• Ability to create personalised lesson plans and monitor progress.
• Hold right to work in the UK and DBS clearance or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in Maths, English and Science to KS3 students.
• Develop personalised lesson plans addressing learning gaps and needs.
• Support students with behavioural difficulties to engage positively with learning.
• Monitor progress and adjust teaching methods to individual needs.
• Create a safe, structured learning environment to rebuild confidence.
• Complete daily attendance records and weekly progress reports.
