SEMH Tutor

Location: St Helens
Pay: GBP30 per hour (dependent on experience and/or qualifications)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Part-time and Full-time opportunities available, long-term

Vision for Education is seeking a committed and qualified SEMH Tutor to support secondary school students in the St Helens area who require additional help to access their education fully. This is a rewarding and flexible role, ideal for educators with a strong background in maths and English, and a passion for making a difference. Tuition will take place in a one-to-one setting, face-to-face or online and the ability to support students to overcome their barriers to learning and forge collaborative relationships is paramount. Tuition may take place in a variety of settings (school, home, library) which requires adaptability and flexibility.

Requirements:

  • A teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, TESOL, TEFL, BAEd etc.)
  • Experience working with SEND pupils
  • Strong understanding of the secondary curriculum
  • Commitment to regular, scheduled tutoring sessions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and learner-centred teaching style
