SEMH Teaching Assistant - Supporting Students Aged 4-16 needed in Redditch

Location: Redditch
Hours: Full-time/Part-time
Contract: Long-term/Permanent/Temporary
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 4 to 16 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and related behavioural needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team in a specialist setting in Redditch, where every day is different, and every small success counts.

About the Role:
* Provide individualised support to pupils with SEMH and ASD, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
* Assist in implementing behaviour support plans and emotional regulation strategies.
* Support the development of social skills, confidence, and independence in young learners.

Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, autism, or behavioural needs.
* A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting challenging behaviours.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive, flexible mindset and a genuine desire to support vulnerable young people.

Desirable:
* Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or mental health (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 TA, Team Teach, etc.).
* Experience working in an SEN or alternative provision environment.
* Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and emotional regulation strategies.
