Location: Rotherham (S61)
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you compassionate, patient, and dedicated to supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

GSL Education are seeking a caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school community in Rotherham. This role involves working closely with pupils to help them manage their emotions, develop positive behaviours, and engage fully in their learning.

About the Role:
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll provide tailored 1:1 or small group support, assist with behaviour management, and contribute to creating a calm and encouraging learning environment. Your will play vital role in helping pupils build confidence, resilience, and social skills.

Responsibilities as SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs during lessons and social times.
  • Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
  • Deliver personalised support in 1:1 or small group settings.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing.

Requirements for SEMH Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or similar needs.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A current CV covering the last 10 years (with any gaps explained).
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
