Job summary

Aspire People Limited is hiring a SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH and SEN in a Specialist Primary Alternative Provision in Bolton. This full-time, long-term role starts in September, with a temp-to-perm path and ongoing CPD.

You will build relationships, deliver personalised learning, maintain calm, and collaborate with staff to support vulnerable children throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Hold a UK degree in Psychology, Educational Psychology, or a related subject (desirable).
• Experience supporting SEMH/SEN in a primary setting.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEMH and SEN needs.
• Build trusting relationships to help pupils feel safe and ready to learn.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning with patience and encouragement.
• Work with teachers to deliver personalised learning and behaviour strategies.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation in class and school day.
• Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence.
