Job summary

EdEx - Education Recruitment seeks two SEMH Teaching Assistants for a specialist primary school in Hounslow. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEMH and additional learning needs, helping them engage with learning and grow confidence.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the class teacher, providing 1:1 and small-group support, promoting emotional regulation and positive relationships in a nurturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH/SEN or behavioural needs is desirable.
• A patient, resilient and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support to help pupils access learning and manage their emotions.
• Work alongside the class teacher and wider support staff to create a positive and structured learning environment.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, social development and building positive relationships.
• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
• Adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of each child.
