Job summary

Academics are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant at a SEMH school in Basingstoke to start ASAP. The role is full-time, term-time only, with potential for a permanent position. You will work with students aged 10-16 with SEMH and related needs, including autism, providing small group and 1:1 support.

The ideal candidate will have experience with complex needs, a calm but firm approach, and a good sense of humour. Salary is aligned with the school pay policy and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or SEN needs.
• Ability to support small groups and 1:1, particularly KS3/KS4.
• Empathetic yet firm approach with a sense of humour.

Responsibilities

• Support students with special educational and behavioural needs.
• Deliver small group and 1:1 support under the guidance of teaching staff.
• Support inclusive learning and contribute to safeguarding and welfare.
