Job description

SEMH Teaching Assistant September Start

Location: Birmingham
Salary: £90 £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment this September. This is a full-time role, working 5 days a week, supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons

  • Support students in managing behaviour and emotional challenges

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external agencies

The Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience working with SEMH students or young people with behavioural needs

  • Patient, empathetic, and resilient

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong behaviour management strategies

  • Relevant qualifications or training (preferred, but not essential)
